 Announcing UP FROM THE BOTTOMLESS PIT & OTHER STORIES
 
Up from the Bottomless Pitis the ultimate collection for Philip Jose Farmer fans, including 140,000 words (roughly 400 pages) of very obscure, never-before-collected short stories, a novel beginning, non-fiction, and a complete novel as well.

Most of these pieces have only seen publication in the fanzine Farmerphile.
Subterranean Press is proud to give these newly discovered gems a more permanent home, in an edition specifically geared toward Phil’s most ardent fans. In addition to the rarities, there will be copious introductions and numerous black and white illustrations by Georgetown, TX artist Keith Howell and Memphis, TN artist Charles Berlin.

Texas illustrator/cartoonist Keith Howell, has had the honor of illustrating several Philip Jose Farmer (PJF) works, including THE BEST OF PHILIP JOSE' FARMER and PEARLS FROM PEORIA (2006 Subterranean Press) as well as contributing covers and interiors to Farmperhilemagazine.  In addition to his PJF-related work, he was a recent contributor to THE MIDDLEMAN: THE TRADE PAPERBACK IMPERATIVE (2006 Viper Comics) and the upcoming LOST SANCTUM #4 (2007 Wildcat Books).  Keith works full-time as a graphic artist (and occasional writer/editor) for an educational publisher producing countless books and games.  He also finds time to teach as an adjunct professor of Legal Research & Writing for the paralegal studies program at a local technical college.
